Offshore outfall pipeline supply and installation for Power Station of Ceramics Ras al Khaima was a challenging job for Beach Marine and Ports services LLC. The existing pipeline discharge head was buried near shore due to land fill for a new beach of 5-star hotel named Waldorf Astoria Al Hamra Ras al Khaima which was creating backpressure within the line and to the plant pumps. Many times leakage in the pipeline occurred due to backpressure in the pipeline which was rectified. Beach Marine Ports Services LLC did the survey of the outfall pipeline while attending the leak repair works in the pipeline and recommended extension to the existing outfall pipeline by 150m from the shoreline. The recommendation was accepted and approved by the Client and finally awarded the job to Beach Marine and Ports Services LLC. The big challenge was working on the operational beach of 5-star hotel without disturbance / hazards or creating inconvenience to the beach users.
The main scope was involved in supply of HDPE pipe dia 800mm, welding of HDPE pipe, Casting and supply of concrete blast for counterweight on pipeline, nearshore dredging, dismantling of existing outfall head block and shifting 150m offshore to the new location, launching, alignment and sinking of pipe line, connection to the existing pipeline and outfall head block, backfilling and commissioning, navigation buoys and lights supply and installation.
The project was completed and delivered to Client in record time without disturbance hotel guests and marine environment.
